GURUCHARAN SINGH KHALSA PhD


Director of Training for the Kundalini Research Institute, Gurucharan S. Khalsa is a psychotherapist, teacher and writer, and is a world recognized expert in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Dr. Khalsa is an authority in the mind and in the applied psychology of meditation and peak performance. For 25 years he was in clinical practice with his focus being on executive coaching, conflict resolution, stress management, creativity and the interface of high information technology with optimal human performance. He bridges two perspectives: the hard sciences, which he learned in mathematics and chemistry at Harvey Mudd College and graduate mathematic studies at Claremont Graduate School; and the human sciences, which he studied at Boston University for a Masters in counseling. He later completed a doctorate in psychology.
For over 20 years Gurucharan has instructed in universities, including MIT and the University of Guadalajara, and has been affiliated with the Center for Psychology and Social Change at Harvard University. He has done original research on the cognitive and physiological impact of meditation, and has spoken and written on the use of yoga techniques for therapists, health care providers and organizations. In addition, he has trained thousands of yoga teachers and conducts classes and seminars in Kundalini Yoga around the world.

 



NIRVAIR SINGH KHALSA


Nirvair Singh began studying with Yogi Bhajan in 1971and has taught over 13, 000 Kundalini Yoga classes to date. He is a retired University Instructor at the University of Alaska Anchorage where he taught classes in Kundalini Yoga for 31 years. He has authored nineteen best selling DVD's/Videos and four books on Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. (http//www.kundaliniyoga.net) He has also taught classes, workshops and trainings throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia. Currently he is the CEO and President of The Kundalini Research Institute. He is a Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 certified teacher trainer. He lives with his family in Anchorage Alaska and Espanola New Mexico and is the Co-founder and Co-director of the Kundalini Yoga Center of Alaska (http://www.kundaliniyogacenter.com) with his wife of thirty-six years, Nirvair Kaur Khalsa.
 



KRISHNA KAUR KHALSA


Krishna Kaur has been teaching the art of Kundalini Yoga and Self Awareness to the Greater Los Angeles community since 1970. She is a natural teacher who has shared the art and science of yoga with therapists, entertainers, executives, students, at-risk youth, teachers, seniors, pregnant mothers, inmates and drug rehabilitation clients. She is the founder of Your Own Greatness Affirmed (Y.O.G.A. Inc), Inc., which is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to establishing Yoga-based programs in underserved communities around the world. YOGA For Youth is a Y.O.G.A., Inc program that, while serving all youth, is focused primarily on "at risk" and incarcerated youth. Through the YOGA For Youth program, consisting of Yoga exercises, breathing, meditation, and singing, the young people are given practical tools to enrich their lives in the present and future. She is also the founder of the International Association of Black Yoga Teachers, which offers classes throughout the community, takes the YOGA For Youth program into the detention camps, and sponsors a Festival of Yoga and Music in Cuba.
 



SHANTI SHANTI KAUR KHALSA PhD


Shanti Shanti Kaur Khalsa, PhD has taught Kundalini Yoga since 1971. She began to specialize in teaching to people with chronic or life threatening illness and their family members in 1986, under the direction of Yogi Bhajan. At his request she founded the Guru Ram Das Center for Medicine and Humanology, providing direct client services, professional training and outcome studies on the medical effects of yoga practice. She is a Medical Family therapist, a KRI Certified Kundalini Yoga teacher trainer, a RYT 500, and a charter member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. Dr. Khalsa trains yoga teachers and health professionals to incorporate Kundalini Yoga and Meditation in the psychological, spiritual and behavioral aspects of health recovery.
